Gamer helps 1337 police bust online predators

Right now, there’s one gamer who probably has one of the best jobs on the planet. His name is Zach Loulias, and he helps cops become 1337.

GamePolitics got word of this news article in KUTV Utah, where Zach helps out the local law enforcement in hunting down and stopping online sex predators. This 15-year old gamer helps Salt Lake City’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to do their job by showing them how the gaming world works.

As you can probably guess, he not only has to help the police level up their characters (Blizzard definitely won’t ban these guys!), he also teaches them the basics of the gamer-centric language we know as leetspeak. As Ken Wallentine of the task force noted, “We are adults and we are not great gamers so we didnÂ’t know what we are doing so we brought in an expert.”

While Zack doesn’t actually participate in catching the predators, he does provide the knowledge that helps bring in the bad guys at the end of the day. In fact, he was commended by the police force during a recent banquet, and his parents are proud of both his gaming know-how and his conscientious use of that knowledge. That’s definitely more than we can say about own gaming exploits, don’t you think?
