Anarchy Online Celebrates Fifth Birthday This Week

Anarchy OnlineWe’ve already announced the very good news that Anarchy Online, in celebration of its fifth year in the MMORPG market, is making all four expansion packs free and gratis. Well it seems Funcom is giving justice to the belief that “people are at their nicest when it’s their birthday” as news float around the net that gamers should expect more from their favorite game. In a community update, the following was posted:

“Birthday Time!

It’s that time of year again! This coming week Anarchy Online will be five years old! To celebrate this occasion there will be a series of events and parties next weekend! Not all will be announced so keep your eyes peeled over the next week to get in on the birthday fun!”

Judging from this statement, players of this futuristic, science-fiction themed MMO should expect more fun and surprises. Set in the virtual planet of Rubi-Ka, gamers play as human colonists struggling to maintain a community without getting drawn into the planet’s factional and political conflicts (I thought this was virtual?). Playing this game is already a good-enough treat, add to that freebies and the upcoming treats, this could very well be MMORPG heaven.
