We’re sure a whole lot of you have been waiting for news regarding Ninja Theory‘s upcoming PlayStation 3 video game, Heavenly Sword. As luck would have it, we’ve got a little tidbit of interest for you today.

During the E3 Media and Business Summit, Advanced Media Network was able to score an interview with Tameem Antoniades, co-founder and chief design ninja of Ninja Theory. At the end of the said interview, something very interesting slipped and to be honest, we’re sure it will make a lot of people happy (aside from the news of downloadable content and Home support).

The interviewer asked whether Ninja Theory had any plans to make a sequel (or sequels) for Heavenly Sword. To this, Antoniades replied, “When we set out to do Heavenly Sword, which was a long time ago, it was four years ago when we first came up with the concept, we wanted it to be a three game story. So we’ve had the story for the sequel for a while now.”

(*Insert PS3 fans jumping in glee here*) Good news, very good news, indeed. There is a condition to the sequels, however, as Antoniades indicated that the sequel’s release will depend on the success of the first game. We’ll have to wait for Heavenly Sword‘s release in September to see whether or not Ninja Theory will be developing the sequel.

We’ll be scouring the webs for more news regarding this PS3 exclusive, so stay tuned. If you want to check out the said interview, feel free to click on the Read link.
