Atlus goes for bigger: Trauma Center moves up a notch to Hospital for the Wii

Hospital sign - Image 1Are you traumatized yet from failing an aneurysm operation in Trauma Center? Not yet? Good, cos there’s another one coming from Atlus, and this time it brings it into the more stressful world of hospitals. Simply called Hospital, this iteration of the Trauma Center franchise puts the coat on Wii-med students to play as doctors and as cosmetic surgeons. Don’t blotch up that nose job now.

According to the latest edition of Famitsu, there will be six different doctors, including a mysterious-looking one with the glowing red hands. As to why his hands are glowing, we’re not really sure, but it’s my guess that he’s the one with the powerful healing touch. Or not.

Included in the list of operations you will embark on would be the tasks of putting skulls back together, handling and maneuvering an endoscopic camera (with full use of the Wiimote, of course), and pulling out an iron beam out of a liver — all of which are very not enticing to squeamish folks.

Adding that artiste touch would be the manga style cutscenes, probably to soften up the gore. There’s no release date announced yet for Hospital, but given the timing of the release of these information, it would be safe to surmise that this will be one of the games creeping up into our consciousness come E3.
