Bids for Gamertag goes up to 6000 dollars

How do you make money when you’ve got a really high gamerscore, and it gets featured at mygamercard.net?  If you’re Rance6, you go to eBay, sell your Gamertag, toss in the hard drive and wait for the bids to come in.

We’ve written about this before, and at that time, Victor B. saw that it was going for around $ 5000. As I write this, this is what I see on eBay: it’s going for $ 6000.

6K for a GamerTag

The price has already gone up by a thousand dollars. People are bidding and Rossko of Xboxic thinks that this is ridiculous. He says that he’s having a very hard time getting around the idea that people are willing to pay large sums of money for something that they can get for free if they invest enough time and effort into it. He’s wondering if Gamerscore points matter that much to people? He’s asking if people really are that obsessed. He notes that other services can give you the Gamerscore you desire for less amounts of money.

Well, factoring in eBay’s bid system, perhaps people just think that the time and effort Rance6 put into getting the Gamerscore is worth the $ 6000 they’re bidding. Honestly, some of us here at QJ think that it’s more of a sign of people’s respect for Rance6’s achievements than a sign of people being lazy and just wanting to have other people level/farm/work/build their gaming things for them.

Still, we get Rossko’s point. After all, wouldn’t you feel a lot better if the Gamertag and the Gamerscore you’ve got were your own?
