When Capcom asked its community members if they wanted DLC or a separate game for Resident Evil 5 Alternative Edition, they really wanted answers. As it turns out, more folks and heavier reasoning said they’d rather have DLC. Giving in to consumer preference, the publisher decided to have the version as downloadable content.

On the plus side, you won’t be paying for an entirely new package only to get additional features such a playable sequence and motion control support. Think Dynasty Warriors 6 and DW6 Empires. On a bad note, those who’ve traded in their copies of Resident Evil 5 will not be able to get their hands on it, unless they spend some more and buy again.

For folks who still have their copies and are still having fun getting top scores on Mercenaries, good news, you’re gonna get more BSAA action for RE5.

The DLC price has yet to be announced, but Capcom is still targeting a Spring 2010 release for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions via their respective online stores, while the PC version still needs confirmation.
