Chad Kroeger: set down the Guitar Hero, learn how to play an actual guitar

Chad Kroeger - Image 1Hey, hey, I wanna be a rockstar…not? With their Dark Horse tour coming up, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger points out that there aren’t many bands out there nowadays. So he’s calling out to kids to “set down the Guitar Hero, learn how to play an actual guitar, and start a band.”

Apparently, not all of us want to be a rockstar.

Chad Kroeger - Image 1It seems that not everyone wants to be a big rockstar, living in hilltop houses and driving 15 cars. At least that’s what seems to be the case when Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger said that there aren’t many rock bands left in the scene.

“I feel like there’s not enough rock bands out there, especially when we go on the road,” said Kroeger, on what he perceives to be a rock band drought. “it’s tough to find other bands out there, because either they’re making a record, or they just got done touring.”

With that said, Chad Kroeger calls out to kids: “Start rock bands. Set down the Guitar Hero, learn how to play an actual guitar and start a band,” he said.

Nothing beats the real thing. If you want to be a Guitar Hero (Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii) then grab a real guitar and rock it out.
