Dark Age of Camelot Grab Bag: Potions and fixes

DAoCIt’s been quite a while since we last covered some Dark Age of Camelot (DAoC) Grab Bag quickies. We know that those tiny bits of info may be the only thing that’s stopping you from getting to that elusive level.

It seems a lot of DAoC fans are still not satisfied with previous explanations about selling potions, and potions in general. At this point, the development team still doesn’t have a fix for the problem. It was mentioned in the past that the game treats a potion’s value as fully charged, thus gold is given accordingly. The team assures players that once the problem is fixed, there’ll be no reason why they wouldn’t be able to sell the potions back.

In a related issue, some fans want the 60-minute charge timer thingamajigs back in the game. Unfortunately, their presence creates certain disparity across realms. So, all in the name of leveling the playing field, the stuff has got to go.

Moving away from the potions, players have been long annoyed with the .ini. file conflict that causes duplicate character names in different realms on the same cluster. This is being looked into by Mythic, but they said that the fix may take longer, as the problem is more complicated than it appears. It’s something that players can live with. Besides, they’re all too caught up with potions-related issues to really turn their focus on little game annoyances.
