Dead Rising Censored In Japan?

Beating them to a bloody pulp's okay, but cutting off body parts is a no-no.

One blogger in Japan recently discovered that the Japanese version of Dead Rising for the Xbox 360 wasn’t quite what he expected. Let’s run a quick checklist of what he found, shall we?

Zombies? Check.

Blood? Lots.

Decapitation? A BIG FAT NONE!

No decapitation, no hacking off limbs, no dismemberments. NADA.

This has already happened before (installments of Biohazard got the same treatment, along with other games), but the move doesn’t make sense to some. Dead Rising‘s already got a Z-rating which means that the game can’t be sold to anyone under 18 years of age. Seems whoever censored Dead Rising is afraid of the horde of underage gamers that’ll play their older brothers’ copies of the game.
