EA announces Theme Park for DS

Theme ParkFeeling a bit jealous of the PSP’s Thrillville, aren’t you? You wanna have the same kiddie amusement park fun on your DS too?

Well rid yourself of the envy fellas, ‘cuz EA has just announced that a new simulation game is in the works in their Japanese labs, and guess what it’s called? Yep, you got it, Theme Park!

Oh yes, and with Theme Park, you won’t just be the kid carrying those huge teddybears and ginormous lollipops who goes on rides — you’ll also get to manage the theme park itself!

Theme Park offers players the ability to create, manage, and develop their own amusement parks, which means YOU get to decide which rides your park will have, as well as those cute little shops that line up the paths in theme parks.

All this you’ll get to do via the intuitive touch screen interface that the game will make full use of. Jon Niermann, President of EA Asia Publishing, says:

We are in a unique position to develop compelling new games that appeal to consumers worldwide by combining EAÂ’s…IP with the expertise of EA Japan Studio in the NDS platform. Theme Park will be the first title out of the studio for international release, and we look forward to delighting gamers with this new offering.

Theme Park is currently brewing in the EA Japan Studio and is set to hit the shelves come Spring next year.
