Enterbrain: PS3 supply way below promised numbers

PS3One can’t help but wonder where do all the PS4 hullabaloos are coming from. We certainly can not imagine Sony huddled inside a conference room talking about next-next-gen or whatever they may want to call it. It’s not happening, at least not yet. Kaz Hirai, just the other night, said they are trying to focus with problems on shortage and competition.

As if to add insult to injury, research group Enterbrain comes into the picture again breathing heavily at Sony’s neck. They deal with estimates and predictions and according to them, Sony is still having a hard time with the PS3 supply.

Sony, they say, was just able to come up with 169,082 units since day one. Given this number and the Hirai interview, this could only imply two things: first, Sony failed to deliver miserably; or Sony is clinging on to their “marketing strategy” so well.

At any rate, bottom line is all parties (Sony, consumers, researchers) agree that the number of PS3 units available is way below the demand level. The big question now is whether Sony’s plan of attack will make them king of this war, or if it’ll make them handle the throne on a silver platter to the competition.
