The Trinity expansion for CCP Games‘ EVE Online is looking really good. Slated to be hit video game stores this Winter, this latest addition to the MMORPG contains a graphics update, new ships, new content, and combat system improvements.
The graphics update in Trinity overhauls every station, ship, and stargate. This pretty much means that almost everything in the game will be sporting new sprites. Judging from the screenshots, EVE Online will look absolutely amazing after this goes live.
The new ships in Trinity seem pretty efficient and provide gamers with various options such as rapid transport of units via Jump Freighters or sensor suppression using the Electronic Attack Ships. Those who prefer going the straight-up beat down route will be happy to add the Heavy Interdictor Cruisers and “Marauder” Battleships to their armies.
The new expansion also introduces new content to the game in the form of new agent missions, exploration enhancements, and faction LP store items. Each one adds new twists to the MMORPG that EVE Online veterans will appreciate.
The new agent missions add hundreds of new kill mission sequences spread across the different agent levels and races. Exploration has also received a nice make-over with the multifrequency probe’s abilities further expanded to make it more versatile. Those who decide to support splinter factions such as Mordu’s Legion and Thukker Tribe will now be given some pretty sweet rewards such as unique weapons and rare modules.
The combat system has also been updated and introduces quite a few improvements that allow for advanced tactics and better battlefield management. Among the changes include the addition of drone mutations, bomb trajectories, and even the ability to repair heat-damaged components in space.
Trinity seems to be the biggest expansion of CCP’s EVE Online to date. If it lives up to all the hype it’s been generating, then we can probably expect more players to come flocking to this game for their next MMO fix.
