Fable 2: what to expect from the achievements list

Fable 2 has been a long time coming, and it’s been a while since we’ve heard anything solid about the game from Lionhead Studios. Still, if the studio that brought us Black & White claims that it’s the greatest game ever, then we’re willing to wait until they finish it properly, patiently twiddling our thumbs. Fable 2 finally has a release date (sort of) as Lionhead revealed that the RPG will be coming later this year. It’s not a specific release date, but at least we have a vague idea of it. For now, we can chew on what we can expect from the game’s achievement list.

Fable 2 is planned to be the “greatest game of all time,” so we’re expecting an achievements list that will live up to the claim. Lionhead Studios didn’t reveal the specific achievements we’ll be breaking our thumbs for, but they did give clues.

First of all, Fable 2 won’t have secret achievements. The game is going to be huge, so this is a good thing really. And because the game is huge, points will also be set aside for the adventurous; those who explore the world of Fable 2 outside of the game’s story.

Achievement points gained from combat won’t be focused on grinds, but rather, “cool stuff.” Some points will also be awarded for those who like to collect stuff from all over the world.

The developers are also planning something along the lines of Black & White. Points will be awarded for Good or Evil deeds. This idea is still in the works however, as players may want to get achievements instead of just playing as they normally would.
