Final Fantasy XI : Cheaters Banned

Square Enix has recently taken actions against those who has been pulling a fast one on them, resulting to their prosperous gaming experience in the MMORPG – Final Fantasy XI. So if you’re planning on cheating your way around, I suggest that you stop and think about it and its consequences because SquareEnix means business. If you could recall, we earlier reported that the guys behind Guild Wars (ArenaNet and NCsoft) have banned bot-users a couple of months back.

According to an official statement, “over 2,000 PlayOnline accounts have been either suspended or terminated on July 21, 2006 for the malicious and intentional use of these third-party tools.” They would also want to remind their gaming community that the use of third party tools would also disrupt their gaming experience as it will destroy in-game balance, encourage Real Money Trade, may cause character information to be altered, erased, or personal information to be leaked to unwanted third parties. Although SquareEnix didn’t divulge any specific info on just what kinds of third-party software tools were discovered.

And if you think you’ve gotten away with it…well think again, because they vow on “continuing to take strict actions against those individuals that we have confirmed to have used such tools…We would also apply measurements to combat these third-party tools and violations.”
