In a recent piece on Activision‘s big boss Bobby Kotick, Forbes recently accused Electronic ArtsRock Band (360, PS3) of being a “shameless knockoff” of Guitar Hero:

EA also teamed with MTV to sell Rock Band, a shameless knockoff of Guitar Hero that added drums, bass and a microphone to the world of make-believe rock stars. EA says it is returning to an “auteur model” of designing games, taking bigger chances on fewer ideas.

Shame on you, Forbes. You know how much the truth hurts. EA responded to the accusation with a very firm no comment statement. “Unfortunately we can’t comment on this,” said an EA rep. Speaking of knockoffs… don’t you guys just love the drum and mic peripherals in Guitar Hero World Tour?
