Ghostly “Add Mic” in Wii Home Menu
The guys from Go Nintendo picked this little rumor up from forums sprouting over the Net regarding a rather blurry after-image of an “Add Mic” button visible in the Wii Home Menu. How do you spot it?
Run your Wii on regular 480p and don’t forget to enable your screen-burn protection feature. Then insert your The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess disc. Press Home. Wait for the screen dimmer to kick in and check out the upper right of the “Wii Menu” button.
You should be able to spot an almost ghostly “Add Mic” button offset from the “Wii Menu” button towards the upper right. A glitch? A burned after-image on the phosphors? While there has been a flurry of confirmations and denials, there’s nothing official out yet.
Of course, we all know the mic-on-the-Wii issue isn’t new: Disney‘s High School Musical coming for the Wii will come with a microphone for you to strike a note with Zack and Vanessa. But what does Zelda have to do with a mic? It could be possible that the idea of a microphone was also in the works while the Wii was being developed and had been removed before release. What’s your guess?
