Sad news folks. Sony has announced that the PSP’s extended life battery kit has been discontinued.

Sony Computer Entertainment’s Al de Leon recently confirmed that they were discontinuing the the battery kit. “Yes, we are discontinuing this product as we look for other opportunities to service the consumer,” notes de Leon. Hopefully, we’ll see something similar to the extended life battery pack in the future.

For those who haven’t heard of it, the extended life battery kit is a battery pack that potentially offers up to 12 hours of PSP time in one charge. It’s a great peripheral to have, and we’re kinda sad to see it go.
