GRIN CEO and co-founder Bo Andersson has some reassurances for you, as he talked about the impact of Japanese creative influence on Bionic Commando and about the possibility of opening a new studio in the US in a recent interview.

With some fans concerned about Capcom of Japan having allowed GRIN to develop the next-gen version of the classic Bionic Commando game, Andersson reassured players that Capcom has been exerting a direct influence over the creative aspect of Bionic Commando.

As he put it:

The most interesting part is that our game gets thrown around to all the other departments within Capcom. The guys making Devil May Cry and Resident Evil and such. ThatÂ’s really cool, because you get feedback from other creative directors and creative people from within the Japanese games industry while your game is in development. IÂ’ve never experienced that in the Western industry. For me, thatÂ’s unparalleled.

According to Mr. Andersson, GRIN is also looking at the US as a possible place for a new studio, since Mr. Andersson admitted that having a US branch would be quite beneficial for the company. As GRIN has already been collaborating with a Canadian partner, the likelihood of having a US studio looks quite feasible, indeed.
