Hellgate: London patch 1.2 released

Enjoying Flagship Studios‘ Hellgate: London but wishing that you could send and receive mail from your buddies? Then heads up, as the latest patch for the dystopian, demon-infested world of London is now up and running on all servers – and like a genie that you just coaxed, cajoled and caressed out of its greasy lamp, it’s gone and granted that particular wish of yours. If you’re one of the many adventurers trekking the demon-enslaved world of Flagship Studios‘ Hellgate: London, here’s a nice update: the 1.2 patch has just been unleashed on every available live server of the game, and with it comes a TON of updates and new bells that’s sure to make even the modest jaded player all a-titter. We’re not kidding, it’s that good.

What makes this particular update good, you ask? The fact that it introduces a new in-game mail system for players to send correspondence to each other. But they’re not just normal messages.

No, you’ll be able to attach goodies to your messages as well, be it items or Palladium. And while you can only receive those goodies inside a Station, the messages themselves can be read anytime.

Here’s the part of the 1.2 patch notes that speaks about In-Game Mail:

• Mail can be read anywhere in the game via the Mail panel. This can be accessed using the Z key or using the Mail icon located underneath the chat panel.
• Items and Palladium can only be attached or removed from mail while the character is in a Station.
• Mail can be sent to any player whose name is known, regardless of whether they are online or not. You can only send mail to one character at a time or to your entire guild.
• Mail is only stored for a certain amount of time. The mail panel shows how long each message has left before it is automatically deleted. Different types of mail (such as those with attachments or unread mail) may stay in your inbox for longer or shorter periods of time.
• While you can send mail to character in a different mode (Hardcore, Elite, and Hardcore Elite) you cannot attach items or Palladium in a cross-mode email. This follows the same rules as trading items.
• You canÂ’t mail quest items or non-tradable items (such as Dye Kits or a Skill Retrainer).

Definitely the update to be excited about, eh? There’s also the deal about the second of the major character class balance passes. According to the developers, classes considered overpowered in comparison to the other classes have received a little bit of tweaking.
