If Y’all Like Westerns, This Har MMO’s Fer Yew!

gsThree Rings Design, Inc., MMO game developer out of San Francisco has announced the opening today of the public beta for its latest offering,  Bang! Howdy.  Here, players face off in the lawless western U.S. territories of the 19th century, using “casual strategy game mechanics” in different gameplay modes.

BH is combines turn-based and real-time strategy gameplay, and is played in short fast-paced rounds.  Working  through the “Wild West” settings, players encounter new units, gameplay scenarios, arenas, customizations and game features. Avatars can be customized with a variety of authentic frontier outfits.

“We been diggin’ away in the mines for a good long while and we can finally report that there’s gold in them thar hills,”  Three Rings’ CTO Michael Bayne says, adding “Hitch up yer wagons and get ready to ride, because yer not gonna want to miss out on all the fun.”

This is a potentially nice follow-up to “Puzzle Pirates,” which TIME Magazine called “addictive.” BH can be downloaded online, and there will be no monthly fee, although players can purchase in-game currency to obtain additional content.

Michael Bayne says: “Saddle up to BangHowdy.com for more information and we look forward to testing your mettle in our public beta.”
