Jack Thompson’s scrapped law to cost Louisiana US$ 157K
Uh-oh. It looks like ol’ Jack Thompson isn’t just keen on stomping games off of the face of the planet, but he also seems to have a knack for emptying pockets.
After Federal District Court Judge James Brady of Louisiana completely rejected Thompson’s proposed law last July, it looks like the total bill that the whole hullabaloo generated has amounted to a bone-chilling US$ 157,548.78, and it’s all on record. Ouch. Not good, especially since the state is still recovering from the damage dealt by Hurricane Katrina.
In the meantime, Jack Thompson is all set and eager to go for it again this year, as he drops hints that “a legislator in an unnamed ‘eastern state’ has asked him to draft a video game law”.
Brace for a collective sigh, in 5. 4. 3…
