Japanese love hotels renting PS3s, Wiis

PS3s for rent! - Image 1Here’s a hypothetical situation: Let’s say you’re going to Japan on a trip that would take you away from your favorite PS3 or Wii title – games that you can’t stand leaving behind and just have to play every single day. You don’t have enough money to spring for a new console and a TV, so what should you do?

Why, check into a love hotel of course.

According to the second part of Stippy “Love Hotel in Japan” series, a few Japanese love hotels (anyone who says they don’t know what love hotels are, please feel free to go back to playing with your Gizmondos) are offering free PS3 and Wii rentals to their customers. One such example is the Casa Di Due in Shibuya’s Dogenzaka area.

In the case of the Casa Di Due, each game and console (and everything else for that matter – including costumes, etc.) corresponds to a specific number. Customers just have to call the hotel’s rental service office and give the number of the service that they want. The PS3s seemed to be a hot commodity, though (I bet the Rez Trance controller is a hot commodity as well), as the article’s author was unable to get one since they had all been rented.
