Kevin Durant to be on the cover of NBA Elite 11

durantKevin Durant put up a strong performance during the 2010 NBA regular season and led the Oklahoma City Thunder to the playoffs, where they held their own but lost to the LA Lakers in the first round. His run might’ve ended sooner that he’d have liked, but his play was enough to bring him the honor of gracing the cover of EA Sports’ newly-renamed NBA Elite 11.

“I’ve always been a fan of EA Sports,” said Durant, who at 21 became the youngest player in NBA history to lead the regular season in scoring with 30.1 PPG. “This has been an exciting year for me and the team, and capping it off with being on the cover of NBA Elite 11 is cool.” Durant was also second in last season’s MVP voting, behind LeBron James who took home the award.

This would not be the first time for the Thunder superstar to be on a video game cover. He was also featured in NCAA 08 March Madness, making him only the thid player to appear both on the pack of an NCAA and an NBA licensed product.
