LOTRO celebrates poetry with an in-game event

Yay, fireworks at LOTRO!

Now, who says the residents of Middle-Earth don’t know how to have fun? A couple of days ago, an in-game poetry competition was held at Hobbiton, and even animals (yep, we spotted sheep, a cat, a pig, a frog, a chicken, a fox, even a bear) came over to watch.

The hopeful troubadours slash poets rendered their masterpieces on stage, which all revolved on the theme, “home.” The place was packed around 3p.m., but as some patrons came from afar, a couple of them were late. Their journey was worth it, however, as not only did they get to see awesome talent, they got to have free fireworks as well.

The winner was awarded a nice weapon, a couple of gold and a fireworks treat, while runners-up get to have some gold as well. Afterwards, the crowd headed to the Green Dragon Inn for a serious partteee, after errr, dealing with a couple of rats in the cellar.
