Hey guys! You better read up and read up quick. We just received a presswire from MGO Support at Konami, and they apparently have some big stuff happening for Metal Gear Online. The Metal Gear Online World Championship 2008 Asian Regional Qualifier Tournament is happening, and we’re sure you wouldn’t want to miss it.

The search for the World’s No. 1 Clan and No. 1 Player is on, and those who’ll make it through the regional qualifiers in Japan, North America, Europe, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Singapore will be invited to play at the Metal Gear Online World Championship 2008 to be held in October 2008 at the Tokyo Game Show.

For the Asian region, a series of Individual death match qualifiers will be held to determine who will be the six players that will represent the region in the Tokyo Game Show Grand Finale. To be eligible, players must be 16 years old or above – if you are under-aged, you will need parental consent.

If there is a huge turnout of applicants (which we are definitely betting on), the participants will be selected by draw. In all, six qualifiers (for both Japanese and English version) will be given the dream ticket to an all expenses paid trip to Japan to represent the Asian region in the final showdown. Caveat, though: other costs such as obtaining a passport or necessary visas will have to be shouldered by the individual player.

Okay, let’s get down to the crux of the matter: first, the application period apparently has already started on August 5, 2008 (yes, we are wondering as well why they sent this only now) and will run until August 18, 2008, 9:00 AM. *GASP* Quick! You only have a couple of days more to go!
