Someone's excited - Image 1You’re not the only one disappointed by the delay of Konami‘s Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, because developer Kojima Productions’ boss Hideo Kojima himself is not happy. In the latest Kojima Productions Report, assistant producer Ryan Payton revealed that Kojima was embarrassed for the Sony PlayStation 3 exclusive title‘s delay, and the veteran video game developer is going to make up for it by releasing MGS4 this Q2 as planned.

According to Payton, Metal Gear Solid 4 is in bug testing phase and near completion. New features can be added from this point until launch day, but “for the majority of the team, this is the end,” said Payton. Some parts such as the intro movie are still missing, though signs of further delays aren’t present.

Payton didn’t confirm any solid dates and just mentioned that it should ship simultaneously worldwide with a few days of interval before arriving to shelves of different territories. “Mr. Kojima of all people is really committed to the date because he really hates to disappoint people, and I know he is embarrassed by what happened with the 2007 slip into 2008,” he added.
