Microsoft, CiC partner to bring Xbox 360 game kiosks at hospitals for kids - Image 1Microsoft and non-profit organization Companions in Courage have announced a partnership that aims to alleviate the conditions of children confined in hospitals.

The said NGO is committed to supporting children and families who are overcoming life-threatening obstacles.

Anyway, Microsoft has pledged that it will be providing hundreds of Xbox 360 game kiosks to playrooms in childrenÂ’s hospitals across the country. This will include access to video game titles, movies, and TV content.

Aside from that, Microsoft also added the kiosks will come with a secure, private network that allows hospitalized children across the country to play games and chat over Xbox Live. Robbie Bach, Microsoft’s President of Entertainment and Devices Division said:

Microsoft is committed to keeping kids entertained in a variety of ways within a safe gaming environment.

So partnering with Companions in Courage to offer children in hospitals a way to connect through something as universal as games, is a natural fit for the work we do. The goal for this program is to give these kids a chance to have some fun and just be kids.

It was also said that first hospitals to receive the game kiosks are Morgan Stanley ChildrenÂ’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian, ChildrenÂ’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center of Seattle and the ChildrenÂ’s Hospital of Orange County, California.
