But despite the many iterations under the Super Mario franchise’s belt, Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo still remains firm that the best is just yet to come. The New Super Mario Bros. Wii will be the Mario that will sell for “many years”.
In a retailer briefing in Japan earlier today, Miyamoto said, “It’s a Mario that will continue selling even after one year has passed.” He also predicted that it can, in fact, even “surpass 10 million copies worldwide in the whole fiscal year.”
It’s obvious that this game is top priority for Nintendo. And with the holidays coming up, we can only expect Wii stocks to be a problem yet again, especially with the deathly combo of the Wii price cut and the New Super Mario Bros. Wii release.
