More hands-on pics reveal PS3’s backwards compatibility

No magazine scans from Famitsu this time, but at least we’re getting some close-up photos courtesy of Japan‘s IT Media.

From the photos, you can see that the PS2 title Fantavision actually runs on the PS3 — something Sony didn’t stress earlier but is now evident here. If it follows the trend of Playstation games that looked more awesome on PS2, there’s definitely something in store for us here than what Sony initially revealed to us. How the backwards compatibility works, however, is still unknown.

Look closer and you’ll find touch sensors on the system instead of standard on-off or eject buttons. Pressing the power mark lets you reset the system, even when switching your AV Multicable to HDMI cable that is connected to the TV.
