NDSMail – SMTP Support
Bronto has released a preview version of his upcoming e-mail client for the NDS. This is the first mail application for the NDS and I’m more excited than ever! The NDS community has beat the PSP homebrew community at one more thing, e-mail! It is true that the PSP can access e-mail through the 2.0 firmware (2.0+) browser, but this is the first homebrew e-mail client! The PSP has yet to see such an application, so for the time being, shove it in their faces! Bronto’s mail client can read and send mail from your NDS wherever there is a wireless connection. At the current pre-release version, NDSMail supports only POP3 servers at the mommet (limited thought). It will not be able to connect to your secure e-mail clients like G-mail yet, but it is still better than nothing! This is a great step for WiFi applications on the NDS, and this application is constantly being worked on! The author notes that this is an early beta of the program and that you should try it at your own risk!
This new version adds SMTP support which will allow the user to send replies to the e-mails they receive. In the previous version you could only read the mail, but now you can send the love back! E-mail is all about communicating, and now you finally have the ability to do that on the go, without that huge laptop or small-keyed phone!
