New Operation: Darkness trailer

Today we have a trailer for a previously unheard of Xbox 360 game Operation: Darkness. This game is being published by Sega and is currently a Japan-only title. But with English translations in the trailer, we’re willing to bet that a North American/European launch is still in the cards.

It might not look like it at first, but this game is more than a simple shoot ’em up. By looking at the video we can see a tactical interface with players acting like pawns in a chess game and action menus that ask you whether you want to move or attack.

Behind the tactical side of the game there still appears to be lots of action, so you adrenaline-hogs shouldn’t get bored with this title easily. With exploding grenades, machine guns, and tank shells flying all over the place, you should still be able to get your FPS fix while combining it with this tactical gameplay. The game is due to be released for the Xbox 360 in Japan on December 31, 2006, and with the Xbox’s share of the Japanese gaming market relatively low, a North American/European adaption seems likely.
