NiGHTS to get two-player mode, Artificial Life feature

It looks like the final version of NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams will get some extra Sega goodness. Word from IGN is that the game will feature two additional modes for gamers to try out: two-player gaming and an artificial life feature.

For the two player mode, IGN reports that there will be a “Duel” mode available for the game, which makes us think that the game will have a competitive aspect, though it’s yet to be explained what type of duels players will get into. In addition, Sega has announced that the game will feature multiple two-player modes, with one mode allowing for local play and another that lets gamers go on WiFi for some online action. IGN was able to confirm only one mode of play however, a racing competition, so let’s hope that more information gets unveiled at the TGS.

Sega also announced plans to use an Artificial Life (or A-Life) feature for the game. With A-Life, users can basically take control of the care and feeding of animals from the world of Nightopia.

In any case, expect more updates to NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams to come our way once the Tokyo Game Show rolls around, hopefully with the playable demo showing off the A-Life System or the two-player accessibility of the game. Till then, keep checking QJ.NET for more updates.
