No Classic Controller support in Wii version of PES 2008

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 for the Wii - Image 1The Nintendo Wii’s Classic Controller will not be supported in the Wii version of Konami‘s Pro Evolution Soccer 2008. This according to a CVG interview with producer Akiyoshi “Greyhound” Chosogabe.

Chosogabe said that while it is technically possible to have Classic Controls (the Wii version is actually based on the PlayStation 2 PES), he chose not to add the feature. “Technically it’s possible to have Classic Controls. But I’m focusing on creating a brand new game system so I don’t have any plans to use the Classic Controller,” said Chosogabe.

The Wii version of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 was first presented to the public last week during the annual Pro Evo Soccer finals in Seville. The game is also available on PlayStation 3, PC, PS2, PSP and DS.
