Patapon website updated: the Ligoton tribe and new trailer

Patapon
, the upcoming rhythm game from Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ), recently had its website updated with more details than you can mash the Circle and Square face buttons of your Sony PlayStation Portable. Try not to get infected with the groovy beat, nor have the “Pata, pata, pata, pon” chant stuck in your head as we sift through new info about this quirky video game headed for the Sony PSP.

As this is a SCEJ title, it’s not surprising that much of the text in the website is Japanese. Fortunately, the site’s newly-opened sections tell more of the Patapon tribe’s epic struggle with lots of images, so for the non-Japanese fluent of us, it’s not that hard to figure things out. And while the visuals themselves are pretty simple, reminiscent of Loco Roco‘s art style, it’s hard not to get excited about the fun we’ll have while tapping out rhythms to command the Patapon tribe.

So, standard surfing protocol here – clicking through the sections in the pull-up menu at the bottom of the website displays that section. Lots of pictures to see here, as was previously noted. Be sure to check out the Character and Special page, as the Character page gives us a brief background on the Patapons, the Ligotons (an enemy tribe), and the Monsters/Creatures (the giant beasties we’ll be hunting). The latter is an extra treat, as it lets us see a new trailer of Patapon in action (Pata, pata, pata, pon! ARGH!).

A very good update indeed. Check out the website via the read link below.
