It looks like Nintendo will be pulling out all the stops in its attempts to maintain Pokemon‘s hold on the children of the future. To commemorate the April 22nd release of Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl in the United States, Nintendo will be holding a pika-party for poke-fans everywhere, with over 5000 of them expected to attend the event at Nintendo’s World Store.

In addition to fun games and activities for kids, interactive game stations will be available for CCG fans to try out the latest installments of Pokemon video and card game series. A special movie lounge will also be set up for people to watch the latest Pokemon movie, called “Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea.”

Of course, what would a launch be without the actual product? Attendees will be the first people in the US to have their hands on the American version of the game, and will be treated to a special Pokeball scavenger hunt that will see lucky winners getting even more free stuff from Nintendo. For parents reading QJ, that’s going to be on April 22, from 1 p.m. to 5p.m. at the Nintendo World Store at Rockerfeller center. Enjoy!
