Post-CES 2008 highlights detailed at PlayStation Blog

If you missed going to the recent 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show, then here’s a chance for you to catch up on some of the great events that happened during the show. Jeff Rubenstein, Social Media Manager on the PlayStation Blog, was kind enough to compile these questions and answer the many queries brought up by the PlayStation fans.

After the successful conclusion of the recent 2008 Consumer Electronics Show, a lot of people were still pretty inquisitive about the numerous topic covered during the event. Fortunately, Jeff Rubenstein, Social Media Manager on the PlayStation Blog, was kind enough to compile these questions and answer the many queries brought up by the PlayStation fans.

One of the biggest titles Sony had lined up during the event was LittleBigPlanet, and there was no shortage of questions regarding the upcoming sandbox-type platformer. The Sony booth showed off the different game physics that drive the game to be perhaps one of the most anticipated titles on the PS3 when the game comes out in September. Other Sony titles that literally stole the show was the demo of Konami‘s Metal Gear Solid 4. Nothing draws a crowd more than Solid Snake doing what he does best. In a video taken during the event, it showed how the newest iteration to the series pushes the PS3’s graphics to the limit with its stunning visuals. PS3 owners can also breathe a sigh of relief as MGS4 will still be an exclusive title to Sony’s next-gen console.

And of course who can forget the added functionality PSP users will be getting with the Skype Internet telephony service hopping onto the Sony handheld soon. Asides from the demo featured during the event, Rubenstein also mentions that we can all expect it to go live by the end of the month.

It wasn’t only gaming fans who were in for a treat during the event. There were several interesting gadgets that were also highlighted during CES, including Sony’s 3mm thick OLED TV and the MyVu Personal Media Viewer. There was even a dashboard setup using the Sony PSP as a GPS system.

Here’s what Rubenstein had to say when asked when the new dashboard GPS system will be coming out: “Later this year for the GPS. One company actually was marketing a dashboard bracket for the PSP, presumably for that very reason”.
