PS2 = PS3 – US$ 100 at EBGameStop
The math sounds simple, reports DealNews. EBGameStop will shave off one Benjamin (that’s US$ 100.00 for those with someone or something else printed on their money) off of the price of a 20GB or 60GB PS3 by trading in the follwing:
- one working PS2 system (complete, we guess, with its bundled-at-sale DualShock 2 controller, and all other accessories)
- a second Sony-brand DualShock 2 controller
- one PS2 8MB Memory Card – thankfully, of any brand.
- the flyer which we took a screencap of. Very important – must present this (well, that) ad to receive discount.
Hopefully you might have received the flyer in the mail, or found it flying in the streets. But who would let go of coupons like that, considering that besides the PS3 deal, there’s deals for other systems, games, and gift packs as well? Anyway, the offer is good from January 12 (well, today) until January 18, or while supply lasts.
A good deal? Well, the PS3 is backwards-compatible with many PS2 titles, and for those titles that aren’t back-compatted yet, Sony did say they were working on that. And it does knock off a hundred bucks from the PS3’s price tag. Unless you’re the type to collect the classic consoles you own, a hundred saved is a hundred earned, saith Benjamin Franklin. (Okay, he said “a penny”, but he forgot to account for inflation).
