Rayman Raving Rabbids: New Screens and Info

Rayman Raving Rabbids

IGN has a preview article up for Ubisoft‘s Rayman Raving Rabbids, together with a few new screens we’ve uploaded here for your convenience.

Lead designer Michel Ancel has revealed that crazily enough, Raving Rabbids is heavily inspired by the plot of Ridley Scott’s movie ‘Gladiator’. In the game, Rayman will need to complete over 70 contests to gain popularity with the bunnies – so he can challenge the leadership of the Rabbids’ grotesque emperor, who has been leading the rabbits into a war and taken Rayman as his prisoner.

The game will appear on other consoles eventually, but is primarily designed for the Wii and its unique controller features. One minigame lets you steer a warthog with your Wiimote. You can also do a strange special move that lets you swing around cows. To do this, you hold down the “B” button on the Wiimote and swing the remote around.

A four-player mode will be another feature of Raving Rabbids, albeit only playable offline, because Ubisoft has not yet received the specifics for Nintendo’s WiiConnect24 service, making it too late for an implementation.

Rayman Raving Rabbids is a Wii launch title and will therefore hit shelves whenever Nintendo’s console does.
