Riccitiello: Rock Band so hot EA may not meet demand

The Battle of the Bands is on when Rock Band comes out to challenge its rival in the music genre, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. John Riccitiello doesn’t seem fazed by Guitar Hero III‘s success though, saying that Rock Band will be such a “hot product” that gamers will have a hard time getting a copy.

Rock Band (PS2, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) comes out on November 20, some three weeks after the release of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (PS3, 360, Wii, PC). It may be a good idea to pre-order your own copy of Rock Band.

Riccitiello, CEO of EA, explains that even though there’s no shortage in their inventory, Rock Band may not meet the demand in the US or in Europe this holiday season, and straight through March. He states that the game would be so popular that gamers would have to “wait in line outside their favorite retailer.”

Rock Band (PS2, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) comes out on November 20, some three weeks after the release of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (PS3, 360, Wii, PC). Will it be able to catch up? Only time and holiday sales will tell. At any rate, it may be a good idea to pre-order your own copy of Rock Band.
