A lot of PlayStation 3 gamers are looking forward to firmware 2.20, which will include the BD Live (otherwise known as Profile 2.0) update. It was reported earlier that the update may come this May or June, but hopefully this news means we may see it come earlier.

Sony has announced that they are looking at April 8 as the date to release the first batch of Blu-ray movie titles that can connect to the Internet for interactive features. The first batch will consist of “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story” and “The 6th Day.”

Sony announced that the PS3’s firmware update will come once the first Profile 2.0 Blu-ray players hit the market this summer, but it seems like such a waste to release their first batch of BD Live titles and not have a player to play them.

This leads us to speculate whether they’ll be releasing their Profile 2.0 Blu-ray players earlier,  which could mean that they might also be releasing firmware 2.20 at around the same time. Of course, we could only hope at this point.
