Star Wars: Battlefront 3 had evil Obi Wan, game not canceled after all?

You know he’s evil because he has creepy, yellow eyes that stare at you from beneath a dark hood. That just screams Palpatine. But wait, that’s not Palpatine, it’s… Obi-Wan Kenobi? Looks like Free Radical was planning to put a twist on an old story (and an old Jedi) for Star Wars: Battlefront 3. Too bad they got axed before we could see more.

It was first noticed by Kotaku in the leaked vid. Near the end, a hoodless Palpatine said “stick to the plan, Kenobi.” Oooooh, I smell conspiracy. Or maybe that’s the day-old pizza I’m saving for later. Anyway, PlayStation Universe then got these smashingly evil Dark Obi Wan concept art in the mail. Don’t know if they’re authentic, but it would explain what Kotaku’s Brian Crecente heard in the vid.

Too bad Free Radical got axed before we could see anything more though. Ah, but wait! It seems the rumor mill choked up another one. This one comes from videogaming247, whose “insider source” says we might yet see Star Wars: Battlefront 3, which will be assigned back to Pandemic Studios.

True? Let’s hope so.
