Contrary to popular belief, Front Mission is still getting some love. Square Enix just announced at the Tokyo Game Show 2007 that Front Mission 2089: Border of Madness will grace the Nintendo DS. Bad thing is, we have no idea what it’s going to be like.

Front Mission 2089: Border of Madness - Image 1Aside from the revelation at TGS ’07, there’s not much info about Front Mission 2089: Border of Madness. According to IGN’s translation of the teaser site Squeenix put up, the text over an artwork of a skull reads, “One year before that conflict, this island was already being targeted.” Which conflict, we do not know. Front Mission 5: Scars of the War touched various parts of the series’ storyline, so it’s possible that the same can happen in this installment.

It’s also feasible that we’re facing a port here, since Square Enix released Front Mission 2089 on mobiles in Japan. We may not know much, but there’s something we can be certain about: our eyes are peeled for any updates on this hot mech title, so watch this space!
