Prince of Pop? Andy Warhol. Prince of bleeping Darkness? Ozzy Osbourne. Prince of Persia? Rival Swords. You read right. Ubisoft announced today that Prince of Persia Rival Swords will be coming to the PSP in 2006 for Europe and 2007 for North America.

Box ArtDeveloped by Pipeworks Software, a division of Foundation 9 Entertainment, the game builds on last yearÂ’s console success Prince of Persia The Two Thrones. True to the Prince of Persia experience, you’ll once again immerse yourself in a twisting tale filled with adrenaline, tension and discovery, blended with a rich gaming experience of action combat, agility and story-driven puzzles.

Double the fun and excitement as you wield the powers and weapons of two master warriors with very different combat styles, attitudes and histories, as you battle freely through Babylon.

The new multiplayer experience allows you to be the Prince or Dark Prince in a versus play in timed races. Do whatever it takes to win. Interrupt and impede your opponentÂ’s progress by activating switches in your own level that will trigger traps and obstacles in their level. There are also brand new chariot combat levels that are immediately available in the Main Menu.

Prince of Persia Rival Swords begins with the Prince on his way home to Babylon together with the enigmatic Empress of Time Kaileena from their perilous venture in the Island of Time. However, instead of a peaceful kingdom, he finds himself in the middle of a war torn land. Kaileena is the target of a brutal and gets herself kidnapped and murdered by a powerful enemy right in front of the Prince. This tragedy unleashes the Sands of Time that have given rise to a deadly Dark Prince, whose spirit gradually possesses him.
