U.S. VC update: King of Fighters ’94, Star Tropics

Alright, Nintendo fans. Count your Wii points, because it’s time once again for the Wii Shop Channel’s Monday update. This week’s all about people beating the snot out of each other and baseball pitchers in the tropics. Well, it’s 2008 and the classic gaming fun continues as Nintendo once again updates the Wii Shop Channel with a couple of new additions to the Virtual Console’s growing library of classic titles.

First up is King of Fighters ’94, the first entry in the long-running King of Fighters series from SNK. This NeoGeo title brings together fighters from other well-known franchises like Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury, and Ikari Warriors, puts them in three-piece teams, and pits them against each other, battle royale style. KoF ’94 is available for 900 Wii Points.

Joining KoF ’94 is the single-player NES adventure game Star Tropics. As star pitcher Mike Jones, players will be able to navigate through eight chapters and explore numerous locations as they gain more and more powerful weapons in order to rescue their famous archaeologist uncle. 500 Wii Points for this one.
