The US Virtual Console is getting a beat ’em up game for the New Year, and while Riot Zone is no Final Fight, it’s still a hoot to get to beat up random henchmen. The game will be available on January for 800 Wii Points.

Riot Zone first appeared for the PC in 1993, and is also known as Crest of Wolf in Japan. You can choose between two characters: Tony, the stronger character, or Hawk, the quicker of the two. Basically your run of the mill choices.

The game’s already been rated for Australia’s Virtual console.
