Following in the footsteps of Super Paper Mario is DK Bongo Blast, another former GameCube title that’s now being moved to Nintendo’s next gen Wii platform. Thanks to Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu and PalGN, we now have a few more bits of info about this title.

According to PalGN, the latest issue of Famitsu reveals that the game will make use of both the Wii’s Wiimote and Nunchuck controllers. Shaking both will cause a player’s character to accelerate, while shaking one to the left or right will cause the character to steer in the corresponding direction. Jumping is executed by raising both controllers. Players will also be reportedly able to throw barrels via unspecified controls.

Donkey Kong Bongo Blast will have 16 courses spread across seven different worlds. Multiplayer’s also a go. The game offers splitscreen multiplayer support for up to four players. No word yet on what became of the DK Bongos controller, but with the motion-sensing Wiimote, perhaps it won’t be released at all.

DK Bongo Blast is slated for a June 28 release in Japan.
