Wii: second most-remembered product by TV viewers

Well actually, those who had the initiative to plow through a wad of commercials, replied that they remember the Nintendo Wii’s launch in 2006. The console’s launch was only superseded by finger-lickin’ good Super Bowls from the Colonel’s Kentucky Fried Chicken. Consider it a testament to the modern lifestyle: gaming and dining for the win, folks!

Okay, obesity aside (*ahem*), viewers were also able to remember other product launches in that year. The Top 10 2006 Most Memorable New Product Launches, as collected from AdWeek, stand at:

  1. The Nintendo Wii - second most remembered product by TV viewers - Image 1 KFCÂ’s Famous Bowls: 24%
  2. Nintendo Wii: 22%
  3. Glade PlugIns Scented Oil Light Show: 19%
  4. McDonaldÂ’s Snack Wrap: 17%
  5. Activia Yogurt: 11%
  6. Dr. Pepper Berries & Cream: 11%
  7. Gillette Fusion Power: 10%
  8. Wish-Bone Salad Spritzers: 9%
  9. Crest Whitestrips Renewal: 8%
  10. T.M.X. Elmo: 8%

These results were gathered from 1,000 consumers around the U.S. not included in the 81% bracket of consumers who can’t remember a single product launched in dark age 2006. The list highlights that people actually remember things that are innovative from tried and tested brands, products with entirely new technology and products that beneficial to their health. Hmmm, no wonder: the Wii fits all.

But apparently, the Colonel provides all that with one major bonus: you can eat it. You just can’t beat that.
