Wii homebrew - Wiibrew - Chess - news and downloads - Image 1Wiibrew Chess, one of the earliest homebrew ever released on the Wii, finally gets an update. This version doesn’t come from the original author, but from coder vader347. Now on version 0.0.2, the game now comes with Wiimote support.

The original version of the game only had support for the Game Cube controller – not surprising, considering it was made during the early days of Wiibrew. Vader347 notes that this is an unofficial version of the one by hanse.

In case you missed the first release, this game is actually a port of Tom Kerrigan’s Simple Chess Program, which is a rudimentary chess game meant to employ the basics of programming for chess. The download does not provide a readme so be sure to know what you’re doing before installing the program.
