WoW speculation: Patch 2.1 content

The World of Warcraft logo - Image 1While World of Warcraft is quick to update its gamers with the latest its patches have to offer, admittedly, some of the updates just leave more questions in their wake. Such is the case of a recent news reel that Drysc had announced, which detailed three new maps: The Ethereum Prison, Skettis, and Ogri’la.

And while Drysc provided for a basic (read: vague) idea of what players could expect in each of these new areas come release, we’re still waiting around for more specific details.

With that said, some of the more veteran gamers seem to be speculating that these new areas will be heavier on quests, quest hubs, and instances (boss hunts). As Relmstein pointed out, each of these area’s descriptions indicate they were built for solo and small groups – remember Blizzard‘s reiteration on “5-person bosses,” and you get our drift. Adding a little more detail to that note, here is WoW Insider’s summary on to be expected features for all three maps:

  • Quest Hubs with new chain quests which eventually result in having to fight a 5-man boss.
  • Quest Hubs which require you to go to a non instanced area filled with elite mobs.
  • Each area has a single small instance which has group content inside but single person quest objectives outside.

As said earlier, this is just speculation on our part. Just stick around in case Blizzard decides to add more details on what these new maps will really carry.
