WoW: The lvl-64 pet skill bug

A Scorpid - Image 1Players in World of Warcraft have begun noticing an in-game quirk connected to Hunters and their pets. As reported over at WoW Insider, one case involved a hunter and his newly acquired level 51 scorpid pet, which carried the Poison Rank 5 skill on the day it was tamed. The strangeness began when he logged out – upon logging back in the next day, the scorpid’s Rank 5 skill was gone.

Further inquiries and ticket inquiries from the Blizzard Team explained that his pet lost the skill because he (the hunter) and his pet didn’t have the requisite levels to acquire the skill – Poison Rank 5 is reserved for level 64. Similar experiences were also reported by other hunters who acquired a pet with lvl 64 skills, only to have these skills disappear when they logged out and back in.

While this isn’t exactly a game-crippling bug, we thought we’d just pass the word around in case other guys out there ran into this same problem, and were wondering if it’s not just them who’s been hit.
